Senior Placement Services of MidMichigan is located in Freeland, Mi, servicing the Saginaw, Bay and Midland Counties as well as northern Michigan. This is a free placement service for those requiring assisted living, memory care or independent senior housing. SPS of MidMichigan assists families in finding the most suitable living arrangements that enhance their quality of life based on their loved ones needs, preferences and budget. Our goal is to customize each individual’s placement by taking into consideration the individuals medical and physical needs, geographical location of interest, amenities of interest, monthly budget as well as a good understanding of the financials for longevity of placement.
About Laura
Laura Giardina has spent over two decades in healthcare, driven by a passion for helping others and making a positive impact. Beginning her career as an occupational therapist, she spent 16 years working in nursing homes and home care, where she deeply connected with her patients and celebrated their progress, no matter how small. As a Rehab Director, she mentored new therapists and fostered a compassionate environment for her team.
Seeking new challenges, Laura transitioned into healthcare marketing, learning the business side of care. However, her love for direct patient involvement brought her back to clinical work, joining MyMichigan Medical Center Midlands as a Clinical Liaison. For 5.5 years, she advocated for patients, navigating the complexities of insurance and ensuring they received the necessary care.
Laura’s drive for growth eventually led her to Senior Placement Services of Michigan, where she now serves as a Regional Placement Advisor. In this role, she helps families find the right care solutions for their loved ones, covering the tri-cities and northern Michigan. Through her career, Laura has remained dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and their families.

SERVICES
Our services work with private pay as well as Medicaid Waiver contracted facilities. SPS of MidMichigan will also assist in the Medicaid application which then allows us to then partner with MI Choice Waiver services to find the most appropriate home. We provide expert guidance and support throughout the selection process which includes:
Assessment: Evaluating
Evaluating the health, lifestyle and care requirements of the individual.
Matching
Identifying facilities that meet the specific needs and preferences of the individual.
Information
Detailed information about the services, amenities and costs of different assisted living options.
Tours & Visit
Arranging and accompanying families on tours of recommended facilities.
Support
Assistance with paperwork, applications and the transition to the new living environment.
Follow-up
Once the individual moves into the community of choice, a follow up call will be made to the family to make sure the transition is going smoothly and that the residents care needs are being met. Positive input from families and their loved ones helps us to guide future placements to these communities.
